TG test verdict...
19 September 2007
Today's Golfer magazine has recognised the strengths of the X3R with a Silver Award in its annual test of the 11 best trolleys on the market.
Although the Gold Award eluded the X3R this time (as it did back in 2005), this was due to it's exclusive price tag (which was deemed out of reach of the majority of TG readers) as opposed to its on course ability which was again praised by the magazine's equipment editor.

Stewart Golf X3R, £999.
If money was no object, we reckon nine out of ten golfers would pick this. No stone has been left unturned in Stewart's search for perfection - you can even get them to spray one up in the colours of your favourite football team - and it all adds up to the extra enjoyment when using one. It's a bit like how staying in a plush hotel is always more fun than staying in a Travelodge!
The trolley's two-step folding system means everything folds down quickly and can be stowed in your car boot with its battery still inside.
Where some trolleys feel flimsy and lightweight, this baby is rock solid and even has an anti-tip system to stop it falling backwards. The hand-held remote control is pretty small and can be clipped on to the trolley or your belt, or you can keep it in your pocket, so you can direct the trolley from up to 50 yards away.
Not everyone wants to spend nearly £1,000 on a golf trolley, hence why we find it difficult to give this our Gold Award. But if you simply have to have the best and don't mind paying for it, we can guarantee you won't be disappointed by investing in this.
